SportMirror Support & FAQ

How can we help? Answers for the SportMirror video delay app.

What is SportMirror?

SportMirror is a video delay app for sports training — a delayed mirror. Point your device at your hitting station, mat, tee, or floor and set a delay of up to ten seconds. Take your swing, then look up — the last few seconds are already playing back. Every rep gets its own instant replay, hands-free.

How do I set the delay?

Drag the slider at the bottom of the screen. The delay applies when you let go, from live (0 s) up to 10 seconds. At zero the view is a plain live mirror and shows a LIVE badge.

Why is there a countdown ring when I change the delay?

The app has to buffer your delay before it can show you the past. Rather than freezing, SportMirror shows a live view while the ring counts down the seconds, then flips to your delayed replay — the wait is exactly the delay you chose.

How do I zoom, mirror, and switch cameras?

How does automatic swing detection (AUTO) work?

Coming in the next update. Turn on the AUTO pill and SportMirror watches for a swing — baseball, golf, anything with a fast full-body move — using on-device body-pose detection. When it spots one, it saves a clip that starts about a second before the action and a badge counts your clips. Detection runs entirely on your phone; nothing is uploaded.

How do I scrub back or watch in slow motion?

Coming in the next update. Tap the play button to enter review. The picture freezes and you can scrub anywhere in the last 25 seconds, then replay at full, half, or quarter speed. Tap SAVE CLIP to keep the moment you're looking at, or LIVE to jump back to the delayed mirror.

Where do my clips live, and how do I delete them?

Coming in the next update. Clips land in the in-app library (the film-strip button). Each one opens in a looping player with slow motion, a marker on the action, and a jump-to-action button. The library keeps your latest 24 clips — save keepers to Photos and they're yours for good. To clean up, long-press any clip to delete it, or use the menu to delete all clips or just those older than 7 or 30 days. Deleting a clip never touches copies you saved to Photos.

How do I record a longer video?

Tap the record button to start and stop. Recordings save to your Photos library (video only, no audio), zoomed and mirrored exactly as you framed them. The first save will ask for permission to add to your photo library.

The camera view is black or says camera access is needed. What do I do?

SportMirror needs camera permission to do anything. Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and switch SportMirror on, then return to the app.

What are the requirements?

SportMirror runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later. There is no Android version.
